NIO ET9 with partially plant-derived Ultrasuede®

In March 2025, NIO Smart Electric Executive's flagship model, the ET9, hit markets and began being shipped out. The ET9 has a full length of 5,325 mm, a full width of 2,017 mm, and a full height of 1,620 mm. The ET9 is a premier-grade car model that features revolutionary cutting-edge technologies that are the fruits of more than ten years of research and development by NIO, together with next-level design. Its retail price will start $100,000. Many of the interior parts are made from Ultrasuede®, an environmentally friendly material that makes use of partially recycled materials derived from plants.

The ET9 comes installed with SkyOS, a Full-Domain Vehicle Operating System that is a world-first in being a full-domain OS specifically made for cars, allowing users to travel in comfort and safety with its cutting-edge technologies. Not only that, but it is also the first car model in the world to have the three advanced technologies of SkyRide Steer-by-Wire, SkyRide Rear-Wheel Steering and SkyRide Full Active Suspension integrated into its Smart EV chassis system. In particular, by using its integrated hydraulic full active suspension (FAS)—the first of its kind—to make broad adjustments to the stiffness, damping and height of the suspension in real time based on how the car is running, it offers its users a comfortable driving experience that is just like that of a passenger plane cruising through the stratosphere.

The interior of the ET9 is divided into four specialized spaces to give you above-and-beyond comfort and privacy, whether it's for business or leisure. The 582-mm ultra-wide seats are fully equipped with seat warmers, reclining backs, and massage features, creating a sense of leisurely comfort for all its passengers akin to flying through the skies in first class. What's more, it also comes installed with 360-degree rotatable tables, rear control panels that can be flipped up or down, a smart fridge, and more, enabling you to use the ET9 as an on-the-go conference room.

There are three color scheme options available for the interior of the ET9, each one drawing inspiration from nature. The instrument panel, pillars, ceiling and the top half of the door panels are themed after the sky, while the dashboard and the bottom half of the door panels are themed after the earth, producing a harmonious design. The Ultrasuede® in Onyx Black used for the ceiling, pillars and sun visors is joined by our two new Ultrasuede® colors: Soil and Ocean Blue. Ultrasuede® consists of approximately 20% plant-derived raw materials, using polyester made from ethylene glycol produced from sugarcane molasses. Ultrasuede® is an elegant and superior-quality material that creates refined experiences of the highest order.
