The new NIO ES8 was launched and released in June 2023. It has a total length of 5,099 mm, a width of 1,989 mm and height of 1,750 mm. The combination of a pronounced shoulder line, multi-beam headlights, flush side windows and slim illumiBlade taillights make for a high-quality, dynamic six-seater SUV model full of vibrancy. The new EC6 will be sold in China at a price of seventy thousand dollars for the 75 kWh battery pack model and seventy-eight thousand dollars for the 100 kWh battery pack model. The vehicle uses the latest type of Ultrasuede®, which utilizes recycled resources derived from plants in its raw materials, for multiple parts of the upholstery.
The new ES8 is based on an advanced, high-efficiency electric drive platform and equipped with two motors for peak power of 480 kW. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.1 seconds and comes to a complete stop from 100 km/h in 34.3 meters. Integrated power brakes (IPB), dual-chamber air suspension and NIO's proprietary Intelligent Chassis Controller (ICC) enhance the driving experience.
The vehicle is also equipped with adaptive driving beam (ADB) matrix headlights enhanced by LiDAR, cameras and millimeter-wave radars, which can adapt and direct light rays more precisely without dazzling other road users.
The interior is designed to feel like a second living room, with a spacious and luxurious feel for ultimate comfort. Ultrasuede® is used for the ceiling, pillars and sun visors, creating a warm, inviting and cocooning space for passengers. The immersive digital cockpit features the world's first in-car AI assistant, NOMI, a Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 sound system, waterfall ambient lighting and PanoCinema with a 12.8-inch AMOLED center control screen. The interior design is minimal and pure, combining cutting-edge technology and functionality with sophisticated details and exquisite materials to create a more advanced space.
The new ES8 is available in seven exterior colors and four earth-inspired interior themes.
A new color of Ultrasuede®, Graphite Gray, is used for the ceiling, pillars and sun visors. These utilize the latest type of Ultrasuede®, a newly developed material made from approximately 20% plant-based raw materials, including polyester ethylene glycol derived from waste molasses of sugarcane. It is an environmentally friendly material with high elasticity, formability and a high-quality, smooth texture — perfect for creating an elegant and comfortable vehicle interior.
